Hardware wallets for collectors: three months, four devices
We moved the same small collection between four hardware wallets and one browser extension over three months - listing, accepting offers, signing late-night prompts like everyone does.
What we learned
The screen matters more than the brand. The device that showed full transaction details in plain text caught two bad prompts; the one that showed hashes trained us to shrug. Clear signing is the whole game.
Battery-free models won on reliability; wireless models won on comfort and lost on charging anxiety. The browser extension was the fastest and the one we trusted least at the end of the experiment.
Verdict
For a collection you care about: hardware for the vault, a separate hot wallet for the floor, and never the twain. The forty seconds of extra cable time is the cheapest insurance in crypto.
